OUR STORY

All of this started in the city of Kanpur during the time when the whole world was behind the bars of their home during the days of lockdown.

Every mall, shop, and even peddlers weren't available at that time and Sumit's household was suffering too as the only source of income of their house(their shop) couldn't be opened because of all those restrictions. These set backs led to the danger of financial crisis roaming over their minds.

So in order to do something for their parents, Sumit and his brother Gaurav decided to step ahead and tried to do something instead of sitting hand in hand.
Sumit at that time was just in 9th class and his brother was in 11th. Both of them tried some reselling stores online with which they got some stability and it was the time just when they thought of starting to do something of their own.

Both of them noticed that many companies were charging exorbitant prices for the work of Chikankari (a traditional Indian embroidery style) making Chikankari clothes and works unaffordable for the average middle class in the country.
Driven by the vision to make Chikankari clothes accessible to all, both of them started their own brand "CHIKANKAAR" on 13th April 2022.
Both of them started the work through WhatsApp by taking manual orders and then in October 2023 they built their own website- Chikankaar.com

Middle class people, who were previously deterred by the high prices and always took a step back are now able to fulfill their desire to own the beautiful works of Chikankari, all thanks to- Chikankaar.com whose only vision is to provide authentic Chikankari works at affordable prices and best quality.
